I am using Easyfundraising get my World Scout Jamboree fundraising journey started, It was recommend at the first meetup with the Bedfordshire Contingent that we use easyfundraising to help raise some of the money we need for the Jamboree.
Some Scouts in the past have been able to fund over half their amount from it! So I wanted to share how it works, why it’s a brilliant idea, and how you could help (if you want).
What is easyfundraising
Easyfundraising is amazing: when you buy stuff online from your favourite shops such as Amazon, Tesco, , some of what you spend can go to my fund (or another cause) for free — it doesn’t cost you anything extra.
Here’s the simple version of how it works:
- I set up a ‘cause’ on easyfundraising and link it to my jamboree fundraising.
- Friends and family can then join my cause page as a supporter.
- When friends/family (or me!) go shopping online and start via the easyfundraising site (or mobile app or browser extension), the brand gives a little donation to my cause.
- You don’t pay more — the donation comes from the brand’s normal marketing budget.
- I track how much has been raised via my cause page.
Why it’s a great way to help my jamboree cause
- It means everyday shopping can become part of the fundraising, which is super helpful.
- Even a small donation adds up when lots of people use it.
- It’s low effort – if you already shop online, you could support me without extra cost or a huge donation.
- It gives me more ways (not just big-fundraising events) to reach my goal for the jamboree preparation.
How you (yes, YOU!) can help me by using easyfundraising
Here’s how you can join and support me:
- On easyfundraising, go to my cause page here
- Whenever you shop online (for clothes, gifts, travel, groceries, whatever), go via the easyfundraising website or app.
- Use their browser extension (if you like) so you get a reminder when the shop you’re on qualifies for a donation.
- Shop as usual – when you checkout, brand gives a donation to my cause.
- Tell friends & family about it! The more people who link the cause, the more we’ll raise together.
What I’ll use the money for
Because I’m going to the jamboree, I’ll need money for things like: travel, equipment (camping gear, outdoor shoes, weather-ready clothes), kit and maybe extra experiences there.
Every contribution via easyfundraising helps me reduce what I personally need to cover.
